Platform Inspection of damaged turret, Ruthven Mansions

The second phase of our Ruthven Mansions Historical Incentive Grant (HIS) from the Adelaide City Council and a grant from (DEW) Department of Environment & Water enabled a high level platform inspection.

Ian Hamilton, our Heritage architect from Arcuate Architecture, Duratec our Project managers and Gamma Consulting our engineers were engaged to for a physical, close inspection via a boom platform on September 20th 2025. This inspection was necessary based on our initial drone inspection and reports to check areas of concern.

Phase 2 - High Level Platform Inspection - 20th September 2025

Phase Two of the Historical Incentive Scheme grant for the Ruthven Mansions was completed on 20th September in drizzly Spring weather conditions.
Close up images and the physical inspections of timber windows, balconies, decorative features, bricks and render  facade were completed via a boom platform.   This evidence was required to seek immediate remedial works (of the oldest turret) and required by Adelaide City Council (ACC) to obtain  documentation for development consent for restoration works to the facade.
Costings for the restoration are currently underway.
